Hi! We Are At Home In America
Hello! I’m Frances Day, also called Fran. I write most of what you read on American At Home. A couple of friends also add ideas and words, so you will often find me saying “we”, or sometimes “I”.
I hope you like our website. We feel very enthusiastic about it. Once we had the idea that we could combine our love of country with our interests in decoration and lifestyle, it started to come naturally.
We love living in our great country and want to share our interest with you. We write about decorating our living spaces, which is a way of embellishing and celebrating our lives. The shapes and styles that people use vary all over the states and regions of this vast land.
In general, they are similar. But, then again, many are fairly unique expressions of what we see in such a variety of locales: city, country, coast, plains, and mountains. Furniture, wall hangings, lamps, and floors, patios, and flowers: each has a voice that can reflect these places.
We think we are at our best when we are gathering together lots of thoughts and reflections that come out of the practical experience of many on the Internet and combining them with our own.
We can’t visit every region in person to see all of this beauty (though we wish we could), but we can get a peek at a lot through the Internet and its resources.
As a result, we have pieces that feature interesting (we hope) stories and commentaries. We also include discussions and reviews of physical products you can buy, and some how-to-do articles, as well as miscellanea.
Over time, we realize what we are most frequently about is nostalgia. Love of home, remembering the past, and thinking of how we can incorporate that into our modern and current lives.
A number of our posts contain affiliate links. We go over that on our Disclosure page.
Be sure to send us an e-mail (via the Contact page) to let us know how we are doing by you and write with whatever you might like us to cover in future posts.
P.S. Some folks have asked why I don’t publish my personal photograph, address, and phone number on this website. It is because of family reasons. I work at home as an individual writer and entrepreneur. The family does not want personal data made public. We hope you empathize and understand! As for me, I’m stuck with their decision on this!
